It’s like a movie where the techie hacks into the CIA in two seconds. Very unrealistic.

Also MC makes such terrible decisions that I’m cringing through all his decision points. The speech in front of the delegation, the shit with Bella, ffs.

These characters are running around getting into mischief, but barely any description is given about the world. What do buildings look like? How’s the weather, the food?

Also, this world apparently is some magic steampunk world, but the technological side is very weak and hand-wavey. Mind control just happens to work, and any regular joe Engineer can understand just because they are given that job??

No world building. Vague, disjointed magic system. Limited lore.

Can’t relate to main character. MC bland, never really delve into his likes or real personality.

Story starts with a dramatic hook, but it was also written very cheesy, over the top manner.

While the ideas the author is playing around with are interesting enough, the execution is lack luster.
