So far this is painfully boring. I don't know why I'm supposed to care about a rambling history of a random family over a few generations, when none of the characters are actually even given a personality. I care a little bit about the tree in the center of this arc, which is something, but I really don't care about this generic struggling colonial farmers on the prairie narrative.
