strangely, i just realised ariel is probably the love interest (?)
from the moment he was introduced, i had shelved him as one of filtz’s mother’s ex-husbands, but i am no longer under that impression... perhaps he’s the son of one of them rather? or a distant cousin? we know little of him, aside from how dazzling his smile is.

this book has me sighing a lot.
whenever i think that this will be the last chapter i’ll read and that i’m ready to abandon this mess of wrong decisions upon wrong decisions, serge and julian are suddenly back and i can’t help but keep reading simply for the enjoyment they bring me. (i wish this book was about them since fitz is simply incorrigible...)

gods, how i feel for ariel.
i usually am not one for love triangles as they hold no appeal to me, but in this case (where it's quite clear you can't possibly love garrett as a character as well as a person) i find myself enjoying the difficulties it brings. colour me surprised!
on another note: thank you, dear author, for encouraging me to listen to rachmaninoff again...
