Debating whether to stay up this evening and finish the last 50,000 words of this monster. The finish line looms ahead.

Maybe another 225,000 words to go in this mammoth work. Just arrived at part ten of ten tonight. Progress is being made, slowly but surely.

And here I thought Proust's magnum opus was long.... 900,000 words deep and counting.

Things are looking bleak in the life of Cyrus here at the end of part four, though I have hopes in the fallibility of prophecy in epic romance novels. Nearing the halfway mark of this monster novel, having just crossed the 700,000-word mark not too far back.

I'm enjoying this more as I get into all the different sub-plots, although they are often similar to one another. Over 500,000 words in and not even a third of the way through. Also, I think I may need to invest in creating some sort of graphic organizer for the characters. There are so many, and all their names seem to begin with A.

Finished part I this evening. Starting to get into the swing of the writing. Very long sentences and lots of emphasis placed on honor, perhaps excessively (read: humorously). On to the second part....
