'Computers which need to simulate the subtleties of human language and behaviour are already being provided with 'fuzzy logic' circuitry that produces indefinite answers instead of the usual clear-cut binary yes or no. Fuzziness requires a certain complexity of both construction and design. And that may well be the only fact about life which is truly universal.
