A man answered the phone and they are being held hostage,' said Katie desperately" (Wildavsky 46) I like how the author attracts the reader to quickly understand and get a feeling of mystery to the story because his book is about mystery

I chose "Katie was round-faced and blond like their dad, and she has been named for his mother" (Wildavsky 7). This quote shows the detail the author has put in such as how Katie got her blonde hair from her dad instead of not stating it.
