Having lost my father-in-law a year ago and with the question lingering in my mind, "What about my husband, my children, their children?" This book stands to help answer things I, as a caregiver to an Alzheimer's patient, didn't process-until now.

Often avoided and misunderstood, if you have/had relatives with Alzheimer's, this is still an eye opener with much food for thought. While fictional, it depicts very accurate and well researched information, by the highly qualified author, Lisa Genova.

I just finished a story that is so big, so scary, so very honest, from the perspective of a mother, wife, and highly regarded professor-living with Alzheimer's. Do not shy away from this book. It's remarkable. It will bring to forefront of your thinking: Who are you? What defines you? How do you cope with a terminal illness, one often regarded differently than the (dare I say) noble battle of cancer.

The real tears have arrived... sniffle sniffle.
