This almost makes me wish I'd been alive and a law student in the '60s. Brady's testimony reads like a more compelling version of any Grisham novel or Hollywood courtroom showdown. Riveting.

This is a tough go. Aside from the obviously disturbing subject matter (unique in that it includes Hindley's and Ian Brady's own testimony, word for word, back when the world knew of only three victims) and my personal feelings, the format of the text is a challenge. I understand from the preface that certain layouts and even sacrifices were employed in order to avoid a 1,000 page book and prohibitive costs.
