Twins Simon and Jules Ashford, along with younger sister, Amelia, their mother and illustrious father, Lord Ashford, who just blew himself up are relatives of the famous Time Voyager, Briscoe Darcy. The family is now destitute. An advertisement in all the papers invites people to discover and donate a lost or legendary technological invention of historical significance. Their world is modern 1960 and the 1850s mixed.
