I was hunting for the name of an author--any female author--who wrote "like Edna Ferber" in style in the middle of the 20th century. This author came up in a search. Never heard of her, so randomly chose a book to order ILL. (the rest of her books seem more straight fiction than romance, which this looks to be.) We'll give 'er a go and see if I get any of the same pleasures I get from reading Ferber.
