Roberto found an Italian soldier, and are traveling on a boat to find their home country, they were spotted by a Ukrainian patrol boat but they managed to escape the encounter.

Roberto escapes the camp and his friend Samuele died while getting in a fist fight over clothing. Roberto buried his friend and went off, he encountered a sick wolf, it died right in front of him. He also encountered a German military convoy, he almost got spotted. He follows their tracks and ends up in a raided village with every resident dead, except for one boy. They set off to find help.

Roberto and Enzo are living the life of at a German camp and being worked to the bone, trying to keep the secret that Enzo is a Jew contained.
