The description blurb says that you don't need to read the Air Awakens books before this—I highly disagree. I tried it, and I was lost with how intricate the worldbuilding was, magic systems, and deep character development previously established from the previous books. Once I read Air Awakens, this next saga now makes a whole lot more sense.
