Why the hell am I reading this? It’s excruciating. To see the hero allow himself to be humiliated over and over, have him service other women after being with the heroine: I’m squirming and feeling revolted. Dammit. I was moved. It was actually rather lovely in the end. We all make bad life choices at times. If we are lucky, there are no permanent consequences. But we deserve to have a chance to make better ones. A surprisingly sweet story.
