Is it worth the read? I haven't read a parenting book in ages.

Yes, I think all the books in this series have been very helpful to me. Some of it is quite dated, but they do a good job of explaining what to expect at each age and how your child may behave at those ages. They have been remarkably accurate, and it's helpful to know if something is just normal behavior at that age and if it's likely to just go away with time.
