Why the fuck would this person recruit someone so close to "the team" to watch his back while he kidnaps Ford's wife and adopted baby? And the name Tet sounds familiar. I think maybe he showed up in Meet Me In the Dark, which I read a long time ago. I feel like I would have more interest in this bullshit if I'd been able to read all the books from the beginning.
