I was in a sari. I was asked to take it off. Under it, I was wearing trousers. The officer allowed me to keep it on. I didn't understand his intent. They devised another method of torture for me. I was asked to stand up and each comrade was asked to give me five lashes, below the waist. If the blow was not hard enough they would be asked to repeat the whole exercise.
