Need a break. Too intense with the whole asylum thing

End of threshold. It felt like a let down. Snub the butler, kill the competition, blow the mine. Dunno. Felt haphazard.

Ok it’s finally gotten to a point that I’m sure I haven’t read it. I was right about the plot line though so it makes me wonder if it was borrowed from the other story I remember.

Threshold seems familiar and I suspect I’ve read it apart from the series before.

Widdershins has an excellent flavour of magic, darkness, and hope. I love the characters. The have strongly delineated personalities and roles, which means a bit of stereotyping, but it also means they are very firm in my imagination. I love Hawk’s voice in general, and the tone in this one is intimate and intellectual. I appreciate the first book on this series and look forward to the others in the box set.
