We read this a few years ago as a family, also read parts with my Gospel Doctrine class when we were studying Church history. I loved this one!

The first chapter was not as exciting because we don’t know a ton about Joseph Smith at Christmas, so I skipped to the end and read Pres Monson and Hinkley and loved them, so now I’m feeling it more and loving the stories!

I just read my young kids the story of Pres Monson giving the train to a neighbor. It’s so sweet. I want to find a book with more stories like that to share with my kids. We’ve read a lot of picture books this month, but I regret we haven’t read a lot of short stories like that one. Maybe I’ll make up for it this week!

When I did it with Gospel Doctrine, we sort of jumped around. I had people pick different prophets and we would read part about that prophet and then went on to the next one, discussing in between as we went. It was one of my favorite lessons/discussions from that year.
