Re: he GR+Amazon marriage. I've had an IMDB account for almost 10 years and frequent those forums- and never felt like the overlord was hellish. Until I see crazy stuff around GR I'm not hairflipping.

Brandi I'm not in any other forums but this, and I never wanted to read the reviews on Amazon (even before I joined this site), so I'm worried. This makes me unhappy.

But glad to read you again! How've you been!

SubterraneanCatalyst I review on Amazon occasionally. And, to be honest, over the years my negative reaction to a book has spurred me to write a review over any glowing feelings on a book. If I love or enjoy a book I feel it and try to find the next in the series or another one like it. I might rate it by stars but not spend time writing about it.
That said, my reviews, that criticize whichever book, were never altered or tampered with.

Anyway- I DO understand the issues people have with the Amazon merger- I just think we should wait and see before deciding to do things like deleting accounts and getting too upset about it.

Oh and I just found out I'm pregnant :)

So I'm pregnant with my 4th baby, I have two brand new puppies, and I need to update the books I've read on here!!!! LOL :)

How are you?

Shadow Jubilee Congrats, SubterraneanCatalyst! I was initially quite nervous about the merge, and am still not that happy about it, but I'm going to wait and see what happens. I've put too much effort into writing reviews to want to leave now, and I have yet to find a similar site that provides what GR does.

Brandi Wow, congratulations!!! When are you due? And what kind of puppies? I got a new dog too actually, a giant Old English Sheepdog that someone was giving away because they didn't know how to train him. This couple spent $1700 on the dog alone, and gave us his giant kennel and everything too; for free. It took me a couple of weeks, but I got him squared away with basic manners, and now we're fine tuning. I named George...because he's kind of dopey, haha!

I've been ok. My daughter has been going through a lot and we finally got a referral to go to the diabetes center in the city to check her there. I've gotten so far behind on reading this year because of all the hoopla going on at home.

But ... it's not like your friends will suddenly become Amazombified! I hardly ever read anyone's but my friends' reviews, and then if I do happen to venture into the community reviews section I compare books with that person to see if we have the same tastes.

I'm honestly not that worried, especially since over the last few days they've added two things I've really wanted (being able to flag updates and only allowing recs from friends.)

I think we'll be ok.

Yes you do! Just think if your Kindle synced with your read shelf ... :D

Amazombified, haha! I've seen some of the trolling that you and other people have been through, and this is what I worry about; I don't want to go through that.

What does flagging updates do, keep them from being buried? I would be happy to be able to share highlights from the kindle directly to here though.
