Once you get past the start of the night that the two MC's meet it improves, getting past that part however is difficult.

Suspend your disbelief, try not to throw up with the ridiculous gag-provoking scene and you're ok.

The book then becomes cloyingly "sweet", but is actually pleasant to read. I suspect that that's because I'm obviously in the right mood for this storyline!
