Struggling to make it through this one — really fascinating stuff and I’m so excited about the music I’ve uncovered so far. But it reads a lot like an infinite line of musical begats, song upon song upon artist upon comparison and back around in a loop. I think I’d be able to get through this more quickly/enjoyably if it were a little more general, or maybe if some of the references were tucked into less distracting footnotes.
