Prose still bordering on purple, but it is a rather lovely shade of it.

The world in this is rather rich and while the prose borders on purple, it does so in an enjoyable way.

I don't especially want an excuse to call someone an "egotistical foetus," but when the situation arises I hope I have enough presence of mind to remember that particular turn of phrase.
