How are you liking it so far? I read it in English but noticed the author's and could guess from the title that it is Roadside Picnic.

I'm done by now. I felt like it was kind of a stressful read :D there was next to no natural break in the reading, apart from chapter breaks and they were few and far between. Somehow that made the whole story feel rushed.
However, I like the overall idea that aliens have visited Earth but left again without ever taking contact, just leaving some scraps lying around. It's very original, and kind of humbling from a human perspective. So many sci-fi books with aliens put the humans in the center. If humans are not superior, they are equal or the aliens are a vicious enemy that must be defeated. Nope, here the aliens just didn't really care. I find it refreshing.
