Bruno gets lice and gets his hair shaved off and he learns about the other people on the other side of the fence but he will have to go back to Berlin and he is sad that he has to leave.

Bruno almost gave away that he talks with Shmuel but was able to cover it up by saying that he had an imaginary friend.

Bruno meets Shmuel a kid from the other side of the fence and becomes friends with him and doesn't understand why he is their
connection- there have been times when I didn't know why some people were in different places and why they were there

We learn that Bruno's grandmother doesn't like what the Nazis are doing we can tell this because she was angry when her son shows off his uniform.

A question I have is why does grandmother not like the Nazis because she lives in berlin so you would think a person would want to support their military but maybe it's because of the things they did

Bruno makes a tire swing but gets heart on it but their chef repaired him because he tells Bruno that he was a doctor and Bruno learns that there is more to people than they seam.

Connection- I have thought before that person doesn't have that job because they didn't look like

Bruno wants to leave the house because he thinks it's so terrible and accidentally insults his father which is something you don't want to do and learns more about the maid.

Question- Why doesn't Bruno's dad tell him his job

Bruno talks to his dad and complains about the house and the dad tells Bruno that they are going to live there for the foreseeable future/

Question- what is the father's job and why is it so important

Bruno has to move to a home that he doesn't like because it's the opposite of his original.
