It’s a toughie, cooking from an actual cookbook and people laugh when I say that but when they really think about it, most of them collect cookbooks but hardly make one thing out of them, never mind many things.. honestly the ones that I use the most are my Nigella Lawson cookbooks, I have made it a point to make various things sweet and savory from all of them ( I have all of hers but the last one) and my Martha Stewart cookbooks. These days I read them cover to cover and then pick something to make, weekends are ideal when I have time to really see what food is offered in each one and what I would ultimately like to see finished and in front of me, fork in hand… The Food Network website is pretty great for recipes, beats paying for a book and you can read reviews, learn how to tweak, watch videos… love it!
You are welcome! Cooking Channel ( their sister channel) is also great, I use the site all the time, even learned how to make the best baked potato in the oven from an Alton Brown recipe, Fieri has his own page on it, I think he was making some amazing looking tacos last time I watched him :) I like seafood but don't cook much of it, chicken recipes are always in high demand so I totally understand, you font want a book that has one, you want it to fit your taste, comfort cooking style books are totally up your alley. Martha has two books called Everyday Food, very easy to use, pictures on every page and the food is exactly what you like.
