It’s crazy to see a sermon ( a decent one) in a book. Wild descriptions of Jonah’s rebellion. This is worth reading if it is just for the illustrative sermon.

This preacher (Father Maple ) has one wild pulpit! Looks like Moby Dick is like Jonah. It is really not about the fish.

Faith, like a jackal, feeds among the tombs, and even from these dead doubts she gathers her most vital hop.

For all his tattooings he was on the whole a clean, comely looking cannibal. 😂😂😂
