One event that was important in this book was when Ben was expelled from Spy School. He accidentally got expelled for blowing up an entire section of the school. This where the conflict develops because Ben went back to his civilian life. This was also the time Ben was recruited by SPYDER. Now he has mission to spy on SPYDER and learn about their next ploy.

The story takes place in the present because of all the cars, phones, and other advanced types of technology. In SPYDER’s headquarters, undercover agent Ben Ripley is trying to figure out SPYDER’s next devious ploy and report back to the CIA.
