Why do we venerate slacker men who have no interest in even trying to live up to their potential? I've read so many of them lately. Is it a cultural thing about men succeeding, even if they don't try, reinforcing their effortless place at the top of society? Because I'm seriously sick of them.

Ch. 7, so, we're making fun of the romance genre now. Pretty sure this book is written by a man for men. They always have a certain feel to them. The characters are always sarcastic, disinterested, couldn't be bothered in school, have low opinions of women (though they play it off as jokes), etc.

There's nothing wrong w/ books geared for men, but every time I find myself reading 1 I sigh.

Ugh, I somehow 'purchased' this on Audible.co.uk instead of .com (I don't even know how I managed that!) It's such a hassle. But I am finally managing to listen.
