What is happening is that Alex is in the Skull and Bones Society Yale. The Bonesmen are a group of rich surgeons that preform surgeries. Its a secret student society. feel that with the powers of her medium she will have trouble preforming operations with the dead around.

Darlington, is a character rarely mentioned in the beginning. From the horrified flashbacks, you can tell that he or she is dead if not mutilated.
