The 140ish pages between when you think Jem has died to when you find out he has not are unliveable and yet. Here I am (again).

I stopped reading this book about a month and a half ago because I was (justifiably) dreading that moment, but it is shocking how much reading I can get done when I decide to read and not stop until all of them are safe.

Did I really stop reading this for over a month because I was scared to relive a certain something that happens in chapter 14? Even though I know how it ends? Even though I know how it plays out over the next ~130 years? Yes. Yes I did.

Have I read chapter 14 yet? No. No I have not.
