So I just realized why I had confusion with the story. It seems as though it's going backward and forward in time, shifting from character to character without obvious note.
It may be distinguishable with the actual book but with the audio version that I have... I'll chuck it up to the narrator's voice.

Who is the Mastermind? Is it the daughter's boyfriend? Or.... What if it's actually the lady's on boyfriend/hubby? Granted I don't really have reason to suspect him but where did this random receipt come from?

I really wish the characters Kathy and Kelly names were more different as in starting with different letters because since I'm listening to the book being read to me it's confusing between knowing who's who at a specific interval.
