Wish I had caught the fact that the author is married to Sam Harris. This book seems to track along the same ideas as his book Free Will. It starts off with a relatively vauge definition of conscious. It's followed by a reliance (at least so far) on Libet's experiments (the brain chooses to act before we decide) without any mention of Schurger's experiments that suggest other interpretations of the data.
