I was enjoying this but as they cross the ice in their escape, the pace of the story slowed dramatically and the romantic aspects became too many. Skimmed some of this...I got it after a few pages.

Wow, having a hard time getting back into this story. Angel has a flashback (character development) but to me she just looked stupid having no clue about her financial situation. Yes, her husband was a jerk, but her lack of involvement with their situation allowed a lot of his actions.
