Frankenstein is increasingly being a slog: I usually love character-driven stories, but it feels like the characters here aren't distinctive enough to actually carry the book. I still want to finish it, but I find myself reading it to get closer to the end and not because I look forward to seeing what happens.

The book so far is very different from what I imagined, with Victor coming across a lot nicer and more likable than expected. Still wondering what the of the framing device was.
