Wait, what? Isn’t that what he offered first u til she convinced she didn’t want to do an about face in society? Granted, it was a marriage of convenience at the time, but he did offer that well before their tryst just now ... ?

I guess this is what I get from not reading the series in order ... I read about Felicity and Netherfield here, knowing how they end up in the next book. And how nice to meet Lady Kirby, if only for a short time ... reminds me of Ms. Quinn’s Lady Danbury.
