',that she wanted to be a courtesan with anyone but him. There was something about the way she lit up when he looked at her, at how she melted into his kiss, that told another tale.'
Ah can't manage to feel bad for this poor Ashdon guy. I actually like him now but feel bad for him too. He is just in <3 with her and she is toying which is necessary to make him <3 her forever or else he would just trick her. Still sad

"She had 3 pearl necklaces & 3 men & the whole world was watching to see how she would handle herself, as well as how she would handle the 3 men." -- I don't at all feel like she has them wrapped around her finger, maybe because I know that it was planned haha... like it doesn't create that feeling of lure about Caro. It's not like it's real... *shrugs* I feel bad for her except I do want them to end up together.

",as much fun as she was having, she simply must save something for another day. Revenge was a meal best enjoyed in small doses, if only so that the pleasure of it could be savored.'
--and cold that's for sure Sophia :) She tops everything. --Meanwhile, I still feel bad for Ashdon but all is necessary for him to really accept and recognize his feelings. Ha! he keeps loosing it. When he punched Tannington,so romantic

"But to bargain as one?" Caro said. "It's horrible."
ay ay ay Caro you are so dumb well you just are a teenager. You intend to become a courtesan but you don't want a bargain. -Claudia Dain you are a great writer I can see that's what you intended for Caro, it's not that I don't like the book, just as a character I do not like Caro even though by time she keeps getting better... she just needs to catch up to things.

"She was a selfish, self-serving woman and she must think more of others"- Anne's thoughts
--- out of all of them, Anne was the least selfish, and this is proof of it--- love her character

'She was a logical, practical sort of girl and she lived her life by solidly practical rules and expectations.'
--- she doesn't even know how to manage guys, Ashdon whom ''wanted to marry her''... man do get intolerable and she needs to learn how to put up with them if she ever wants to be a good courtesan, nevertheless an unfamed courtesan---
