I am so incredibly excited to read this! The cover is beautiful, it's the perfect millennial pink, I thought it had gotten ruined in delivery and turns out, it was part of the design!
The book also starts by saying everybody was googling how to survive an apocalypse, how to survive in the wild, and I think, we can all deeply relate with that, no?

I really want to love this book, man. It's talking about a fever that spreads from China which has symptoms similar to flu, it's talking about N-95 masks. It's all soooo familiar to our current epidemic. But it's not edited well maybe? The chapters splice weirdly between the present and the past. I don't know if this non-linear storytelling is working. I think it's actually getting in the way instead.

This book has a serious cliffhanger problem! Every chapter ends on something big happening and then the next chapter is fluff instead of addressing the cliffhanger. It's kinda annoying

Funny/strange/chilling to read this story about an epidemic the spread from China whilst an epidemic from China spreads in the real world.

At times, this book slips into this dedication for New York, I don't mind it so much, but it reminds me of all the books and stories I've read about Karachi and how I don't really need to hear it. Hoping it slips out back into its apocalyptic scene.
