These books are very well written..it appears too much detail given to banal things but oddly, does not take away from enjoying the book.

I know. He reminds me of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series in that regard. Only better, because at times I found Mr. Jordan's detailed descriptions of the unimportant to detract from the story.
