This book addresses a lot of tough topics a lot of our students in SPPS face. Cultural identity and cultural/religious discrimination are two that I am looking forward to diving in deeper with my 3rd grade book club. I believe all of them are either 1st or 2nd generation Americans so they relate heavily with the main characters and are making some deep connections.
