Guys what is corn ?? Braudel says there’s three main foodstuffs of early modern humanity corn rice and maize. So obviously corn isn’t maize. But then he differentiates between corn and other cereals: millet, rye, oats. is corn just wheat

This is actually a very interesting book but i have to stop reading it because my binding has fallen apart. Also some of the language and ideas feel so dated. mostly cuz i physically cannot hold the book though
