The book nicely mixes Milani's life with political events that are happening during his lifetime. He tries to paint a pictures of the Iranian middle upper class of the time which is beautifully contrasted with the American one. Milani's prose are lyrical and the book is easy to read though it may be boring if you do not have any interest in politics.
