‘A comparison of the Vedas with the Iranian Avesta, the Greek and Roman literatures, and even Teutonic and Nordic tales (for instance the Eddic poems) reveals striking similarity between their respective mythological beliefs...Apart from mythology, their views on life and death, the earth and the heaven, seem to have much in common.’

‘Like the Buddhist spiritual absolutist Nāgārjuna, Gaudapāda denies the possibility of change or the validity of causation.’
An unfortunate statement in an otherwise (apparently so far) good book...the author would have been better off to compare Nāgārjuna to Śamkara. In the next paragraph we read:
‘Śamkara’s position is less extreme...he did not accept the description of the world as a pure illusion.’
