I think that Daria needs to stop complaining about the fact that her phoneis taken away from her for a month. All she does is whine about it. A phone shouldn't be all she cares about. In the story it says, "I itched to find the phone and stuff it in my pocket, where it belonged."(87). I think Daria has a strong addiction to her phone and her life involves around her phone, at least she thinks it does.

Daria was so addicted to her phone that a little boy that she was supposed to be watching wen't to the hospital. Also, she's so addicted to her phone that she doesn't know what to do since it's taken away. For example, " The whole time we talked, my hand kept drifting towards my pocket, then back to the table."(80). This means that the thing Daria was addicted to, is the only thing that's ever on her mind.

I think so far the authors purpose i to show people that moving affects things that people do. For example in the text Daria moves to a new state and she feels the only way she can stay connected to her friends is by texting. She ignores everything else and keeps texting. She has been in this new state for a month and has no firends there, until a new girl, Cleo, moves to her school.
