There are some magical books that seem to be filled with even more emotion each time you read them, because you know where they’re headed and it chills you to the bone. And you pick up new hints hidden between words & lines and you care so much more for the characters - as their struggles ache deeply & their happiness becomes your very own.

And that’s simply what I feel each time I re-read this book. I ADORE IT!

Mark I don’t get it. There are too many things going on in this book, and too many characters. I didn’t find the wars and other circumstances credible and why was Hannah so insensitive as to never tell her that she was her aunt!

Ari Well, on one hand I would ask you kindly to mark the spoiler as such, as it takes a bit of the mistery away and the pleasure of understanding how the three wolds entwine and colide.

Then, as I see it, the wars are there to emotionally unload the reader, to provide a bit of fun in the tragedy that surrounds them, to sweeten a bit the situation and give us a cute setting for the romantic aspect. As for Hannah, she made a promise, as you might remember, though I think she took it waaay too far - given some aspects I don’t expect her to be quite of sound mind, so there is that. It’s not her reasoning that makes me love the story, but the emotion within. Each book has its own reader and while reading some of Marchetta’s books it feels like a belong.

But I understand your point.
There were books everyone seemed to love but did not impress me in the least, it’s not like your have to love it just because I do, it’s just that I resonate with it even more each time and I am happy to share my love with others who might feel the same ;)

Find a book you love and shout your love for it. It’s incredible how good that feels!

Cheers, and wherever you are, keep safe!
