Okay, I know people who are into Dune are like REALLY INTO DUNE, but so far I'm not seeing it. Tropes galore, third-person omniscient voice defeats any pretense of suspense, villains that are gleefully and cartoonishly evil... I'm finding it really easy to put aside in favor of something more interesting.
