I am confused as to the era on which this stories were written on. The first story felt like it was written from a different time frame than 1990; which would explain the fascination over writing the students had. The book eventually revealed it was 1965. The second story the girl is dating a guy and mending his socks and writing him essays? I gather the book has been reprinted but I think I am missing something.
