It was late winter in northern Rus', the air sullen with wet that was neither rain nor snow.

I have about 200 hundred other books that I'd wanted to read both last year and this one but nah, I'll just and re-read one of my favourites instead.

Aww so far she's getting the pronouns, the genders and the mythological stuff right. I haven't experienced that in quite a while. So beautiful to behold.

And to the Russians amongst my GR-friends - Это только мне кажется, что отрывок из начала "Руслан и Людмила" на английском звучит просто ужасно??? Рифмы нет, формулировка какая-то стрёмная...
