Amid police-enforced social distancing measures aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19, I read in a chapter set in 2015: 'A million people in the world had died of AIDS in the past year'. Research confirms: HIV-related deaths peaked at 2 million in 2005 & 6 (that recently ), and 2017 was the first year since then that they numbered less than a million. COVID-19-related deaths are at 101,000. The year is yet young.
