Cole’s inner monologues take up most of the chapters than the actual action or dialogue. Plus I already can tell that Nicky isn’t going to be very good for Cole. Also, for being a self proclaimed bookworm Cole doesn’t think that there are actually good ya and teen books out there featuring m/m love. That idea that they just don’t exist comes across as a bit ignorant. But I’m going to try and continue this

Dnf @ 100 pages. I’m sorry I wanted to like this and I understand how important a story like this is but the inner monologues just took too much away from the meaning.

Also there seems a possibility in a potential discussion about women writing m/m books and the good and bad from that and I just want to say that I know of some who started off writing m/m romance but ended up learning they are queer themselves so there’s that too and Cole is coming across as if lesbians and queer women don’t exist but I am early in the story so we’ll see if he’ll grow in any way

Didn’t care for the blatant sexism from the main character Cole but I’m hoping that doesn’t happen again
