The writing is incredibly dry and boring. The plot is good, but there are too many characters and especially too many POVs that it is difficult to keep track.

So, after the wife of Isaac found out that her daughter is missing from a convent, she turns around and says this:
"She could have married a rich man, and been happy."
Roe is trying so hard being a good author and I have to DNF. Don't get me wrong, I do like me some problematic characters, but Roe's writing is terrible, her plot is lacklustre, and I just can't with the terrible writing.
